The fifth Hero Guide Contest held by the Strategy section of the forums has ended recently. Competition was tough with fifteen guides in contention for the top prize. After the dust has settled, Beast_Pete and MasterJoe's collaboration, a guide on the Holy Knight, Chen, has emerged victors. The winning guide can be viewed here.

We would like to thank all contestants for taking part in the contest.

More exciting news, CPL Australia has announced that DotA : Allstars will be one of the main three games to be played during this prestigious event.

The servers that host the forums have been recently updated. Various disabled forum features are now enabled. Everything should load considerably faster.

There are a few people that have been spreading fake maps. The 6.42 that is floating around the net is not even a leaked beta, it is a fake map with hacks. Official maps will always be posted first on getdota.com, if you don't find it there then don't download it.
